Giving to CMBB: Empowering the next generation of scientists
Join the Center for Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (CMBB) as we create innovative student training opportunities, establish exciting research collaborations, and build important industry partnerships to empower next-generation scientists and entrepreneurs. Your support is an investment in our students and the future of scientific discovery and innovation.
Some areas of need include (but are not limited to):
Education & Training
Students need hands-on training and experiential learning programs to equip them with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the rapidly evolving fields of molecular biology and biotechnology. These programs help to foster critical thinking and analytical skills and prepare students to excel in academic and professional settings. With the integration of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, we are providing students with versatile skills to thrive in ever-changing scientific fields.
Student stipends for Students Participating in Unpaid Internships
As we build strategic partnerships with the local biopharmaceutical industry, educational institutions, and research institutions, we are increasing the number of opportunities for students and researchers to engage in cutting-edge research with real-world applications. Internship programs with industry/institutions help students maximize their college experience by focusing their studies on innovative scientific projects and gaining real-life work experience. However, not all internships are paid. Making a gift to support student stipends for students who are participating in unpaid internships allows students who otherwise could not have afforded to take an unpaid internship the opportunity to do so.
Core facilities
Our core facilities with state-of-the-art instrumentation help accelerate discoveries, enhance competitiveness in grants and publications for our faculty, provide access to the local scientific community, start-up biotech companies, and high schools, and support educators in designing their hands-on projects to inspire students in STEM careers.
